Bluegrass Music Concert at Community Garden

River City Ramblers to Play Friday in Benson

The Benson Community Garden is hosting its first evening of live music this Friday, July 1st.  “The River City Ramblers” are an Omaha-based Americana, roots, blues, and old time four-member band with a passion for storytelling through music. They play a fun mix of bluegrass, blues, rockabilly, and Dixieland.

The event is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

The Benson Community Garden is located on the lot at the corner of 60th & Lafayette Streets in Omaha, Nebraska. There is plenty of free on-street parking. The garden has 36 garden plots for individual/family members to grow their own fruits and vegetables and has a large common area with a lighted stage for events.

“We typically host a neighbor get-together the night before Independence Day – when the city’s annual concert is in Memorial Park,” said garden founder Kurt Goetzinger. “Since that concert has been scheduled for later in the month, we thought it would be fun to host our own little music celebration to ring in the long holiday weekend.”
